A private certifier is licenced under the Building Act 1975 to perform building inspections and issue final building approvals. They have the same power as a council in assessing applications for building approvals.
Why should I use a private certifier instead of council?
A private certifier will assist you with all aspects of your application, including answering your questions at any time. At Pronto Building Approvals, we’ll smoothly handle the bureaucratic complexities to provide the most efficient and cost-effective outcome.
I’m not sure if my building needs approval?
Building approval is required for any structural building work, including carports, pergolas, decks, extensions and sheds. We can provide advice on whether your proposed development will need approval, and if so, the type of approval needed. Contact us today to discuss your building work.
What types of developments can Pronto Building Approvals certify?
Pronto Building Approvals can certify new construction works on residential Class 1 and 10 buildings. These include additions to existing dwellings, patios, garages and granny flats.
How much does building certification cost?

I’m keen to get development underway. How soon can you perform my assessment?
We pride ourselves on our efficient process. We aim to turnaround approvals in 2–3 days, so you can get started on construction. For urgent jobs, we can organise approvals within 24 hours at an additional cost.
Why do I need to complete all of these documents and plans in order to get my building approved?
These documents are required under legislation, including the Sustainable Planning Act 2009, Building Code of Australia, Building Act 1975, and other State regulations.
Can I provide my documentation to you via email?
Yes, provided your documents are originals and sent in pdf format.
How will I know my building work is approved?
Pronto Building Approvals will issue you the final approval directly and lodge the building approvals and final certificates with council for their records.
What if I change my plans after they’ve been approved?
You’ll need to make a request to change the application and there will be an additional fee. Please contact us if required.
